meditation workshop – session 1 (juan ramón sánchez)
Presentation. We will have the opportunity to share, train and explore together the field of Mindfulness, an effective technique to reduce stress, increase self-awareness, cognitive abilities and reduce physical and psychological symptoms associated with stress. In the sessions you will experiment with mindfulness and the different ways to cultivate it in your life, discovering the benefits it will bring to your work, health and relationships. You will develop a greater ability to relax, reduce levels of discomfort, develop positive states of mind, increase your level of attention and increase self-esteem. Each session includes a practical part and a part of integrative theoretical content work, adopting the tools and techniques necessary to achieve relaxation and increase your emotional well-being. The program includes relaxation techniques, meditation and body awareness exercises based on yoga.
Students. People interested in learning how to manage their stress, improve their personal skills and acquire healthy habits. Students should attend the workshop with comfortable clothing, mat, blanket and cushion.

Mindfulness is a human capacity that we can all develop. It is defined as «being aware moment to moment, cultivating this by paying attention to the present moment in a certain way: without judging, without reacting and as openly as possible» (Jon Kabat-Zin).
Its expansion began with the success of Jon Kabat-Zin’s stress reduction practice, while at the same time neuroscientific research was demonstrating its great healing potential in the field of medicine. Nowadays, Mindfulness meditation is becoming widespread as a powerful complement to medicine, cognitive and behavioral psychology, psychotherapy, etc.
